In every circle of friends there is at least one person who always seems to get the best deals. She brings home twice as many groceries, but spends half as much as what you usually allot for your own grocery budget. Her wardrobe is up to date with the seasons even though she insists most of her clothes are bargain finds. You ask her how she was able to get such high quality items for such little cost and she just smiles. It’s a secret, she tells you. Well the secret isn’t really that hidden. Anyone can access it. All you really need is a computer and a working Internet connection.

There is Always a Sale on the Internet

Shopping portals like PowerShoppersCircle.com provide Internet surfers with a one stop platform for finding the hottest deals on online retailers and bidding sites. Smart shoppers frequent these websites for a heads-up on where to find their desired products at the lowest possible prices. Numerous online retailers slash a chunk out of the original cost of brand products. Before you set out to buy that spiffy new iPod or the Coach bag you’ve been eyeing at the department store for days, see first if you can get it cheaper on the Web. It almost always is. To cut down even more on expenses, shop at websites that offer free shipping services.

Get in the Loop with Twitter and Facebook

Twitter and Facebook aren’t just for connecting with friends, ‘frenemies’ and former flames anymore. A lot of brands have created official Twitter accounts and Facebook fan pages for both promotional and interactive purposes. By following your favorite stores on social media sites, you can get up to date insider information that may not be found anywhere else, online or otherwise. Gain access to Twitter-specific specials, find out about exclusive contests, and know when and where the next great sale will be before it even gets announced to the public. You’ll never miss a bargain again.

Coupons are Your Friend

A sure way to cut down the price tag off products is to use coupons. These little pieces of paper with large x% off signs and freebie guarantees are at the forefront of a bargain shopper’s arsenal. Aside from getting them from the pages of magazines and newspapers, websites such as RetailMeNot.com and CouponCraze.com continually release coupon codes for almost every store in the market. You can save a lot of money from using these coupons. And with the power of the quick search bar, you can easily find the exact kind of coupon you will want to use.

Get a Big Fat Cash-Back Check

Ebates.com is an online shopping portal that gives you up to 30 percent cash-back on purchases from thousands of stores catering to different needs. Subscribers get a check in the mail four times a year, just in time to start shopping for the new season. If you don’t want to receive your big fat check by snail mail, you can opt to have the amount sent to your PayPal account.

Honestly speaking, I always tend to compare prices from the store itself and from the internet. And I think it’s always a good practice not only because you train yourself in terms of decision making but also you train yourself in terms of making sure that what you buy is worth. Of course you need to take into consideration that it may be a long process but then again that what makes the shopping a lot more fun!

Bargain shopping is one of the things I really like to do because I can get great items for a cheap price. Furthermore, with the help of the internet, I can save more time and money (for transportation and food) when buying stuff online. I think the only bad thing about it is that the thrill of going to different shops and checking out the actual product itself is gone – only if you’re shopping alone. But if you’re going to shop together with friends, then I guess, it’s good as long as you really need that item or just go window shopping with them.
